Jean Daloz (Charolles, 1899 – Paris, 1961): Born in Charolles in 1899, Jean Daloz was a graduate of the École Polytechnique and a public works engineer, sent to Indochina from 1922 onwards. He then moved into the colonial private sector, first with Caoutchoucs de l’Indochine (1929), then with the Société financière française et coloniale (SFFC), which he represented within various plantation, transport and forestry companies. A key figure in the economic networks linked to rubber in Indochina, he was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur on 29 December 1948.
